TIE runs an independently audited ISO 9001 Quality Management System specifically designed for the medical repair and modification industry. This system is continuously under a review and improvement plan to ensure all required documentation and services are captured as the industry changes.
2. Surgical Instrument Assesment [Top] [Back]
TIE can offer a surgical instrument assessment service. This involves TIE inspecting your instruments and assessing their function and overall condition. These assessments are performed by our fully trained staff. Upon completion of our assessment a report can be forwarded to the client and a quotation issued.
We also offer a condemnation service on your behalf for when an instrument is unfit for use in a surgical procedure.
3. Surgical Instrument Quotations [Top] [Back]
TIE can provide an obligation free quotation service available to all of our customers free of charge. Quotations offer the ability for a comparison to be made between the cost of repair, service replacement or outright replacements. All quotes are valid for 60 days and freight costing is included.

As surgical instruments become more advanced so does TIE's need to provide a broader range of engineering services. Like many of the manufactures of medical devices, TIE has recently invested in laser fusion technology.
Laser Fusion enables us to add metal to existing instruments, repair microscopic cracks, repair damaged cutting edges without removing metal and also adding a harder metal to cutting edges to increase durability and longevity of the instrument.
Many instruments that were previously unrepairable are now able to be repaired to the same strength or greater of the original design. This now makes a repair, and its price tag very attractive next to the prospect of a new instrument.
5. Surgical Instrument Repair, Refurbish, and Modifications [Top] [Back]
TIE offers a large range of engineering capabilities with techniques and workshop facilities designed to extend the life of today's delicate, multifunctional, surgical instrumentation.
Repairing surgical instruments to perform or enhance their original function offers significant cost savings when compared with replacements.
We repair all of the general instruments like scissors, needle holders, osteotomes etc, but we also repair ophthalmic, arthroscopic, urology, neurology, ENT, fess just to name a few. We can repair ALL BRANDS of instrumentation. TIE specialises in offering repairs that other repairers place in the too hard basket.
Modifications can also be provided on instruments at a surgeons request to help him or her perform or complete a specific task in surgery that the original design restricts, because not all operations are the same. All work is conducted by fully qualified technicians and all workmanship and parts are guaranteed for 3 months.

7. About Diathermy Insulation [Top] [Back]
TIE can reinsulate almost any type of reusable diathermy equipment including Monopolar and Bi-Polar forceps also laparoscopic shafts and electrodes.
TIE has access to most original manufacturers methods for the process of reinsulation of diathermy equipment, and where possible undertakes process, design and materal improvments to ensure the quality and integrity of the instrument is maintained.
All coatings are individually tested to withstand 8KV prior to dispatch.

TIE can mark your surgical instrumentation with a phrase of your choice, weather its a unique identification number, tray name, doctors name or department name, TIE has the solution for you.

TIE can offer a high quality rigid endoscope repair service, we can ensure scopes are repaired to the highest of standards and only the best spare parts are utilized directly from a provider in Germany.
All scopes are assigned with our unique repair numbers and logged in our quality tracking system; this enables us to view all relevant service history.

TIE now has access to hundreds of spare parts direct from Germany. We have a large variety of taps, nuts, springs, levers, scope locking mechanisms and many, many more. And the best part is we keep a large range in stock to prevent delays in turnaround times.
TIE also has access to replacment shafts and jaw assemblies for cholangeogram forceps, working elements, arthroscopic punches, new heads and inserts for wire cutters plus many more. These come in good use where components have been lost; this is also still a great alternative to purchasing a brand-new instrument.
